After two years missing from China, I’m back again as soon as I could enter. It has not been an easy trip, and I’m still in transit in Shanghai toward my first destination, which is Qingdao.
You may wonder why I’m back here… and well, there are multiple reasons. One of these is to refresh the bonds I had with this part of the world, and in fact, I hope to have some business meetings here. Another one is dumplings: I would kill for some good 包子. And then incidentally I’m here when there are the celebrations for the Lunar New Year, so it will be cool to live them in person for the first time in my life!
You may think that I’m crazy because I’m coming here when there is a COVID outbreak… and yes, I am totally crazy. But I’m still smart in my craziness, because I’ve taken all my precautions (vaccines, masks, etc…) and I’m prepared for the worst (I’ve lots of medicines in my luggage). So, don’t worry about me… I’ll survive. And if I don’t survive, it won’t be a big loss… anyway nowadays everyone reads SadlyItsBradley, so my blog is not that relevant 😛
While I will also take some time to enjoy the country, I’ll keep working on all my projects remotely. So to all the new fans of our VRROOM application, I say not to worry: I am still committed to improving it after the great alpha launch.
As I’ve said, I’m interested in having business meetings. After Qingdao, I should visit Shenzhen, and also have a quick hop to Shanghai before returning back to Europe. So if you wanna meet, let me know. My WeChat ID is SkarredTony, so feel free to reach out there if you are an XR professional or have a relevant XR company. I’ll see if I can find the time to meet you! I truly hope so. If I don’t have time now, hopefully we can meet the next time I return here. I’m always happy to get in touch with other amazing members of our XR community, wherever they are in the world.
A new adventure has started! I will keep you all posted about how it goes! And if you are planning to come to China, too, let me know. I’ll tell you the problems I had while coming so that you can enter more smoothly.
Cheers!
