Vive Ecosystem Conference: info on program and registration
This year I am going to be a speaker at the Vive Ecosystem Conference in Shenzhen, where I will also showcase a game of ours of NTW (Yeah!). I’ve already written a blog post on this, and after that, various people have asked me how to get info about this event, since most of the related websites are written in Chinese. Specifically, the most frequently asked questions have been:
- Where can I read the schedule of the event?
- How can I register for it?
- Is there a live stream to watch the event even if I won’t be in Shenzhen?
Let me briefly answer these questions for you all.
VEC 2019 Schedule
The Vive Ecosystem Conference (that in Chinese is called “HTC VIVE 新生态大会暨新品发布 “) will be held on March, 26th 2019 in Shenzhen, China. To be exact, the address of the venue will be “China Resources Tower B1 Floor Publishing Hall, Nanshan District, Shenzhen, China”.
The event will start at 8.30 local time and will end at 18.30. It will feature a mix of keynote sessions and speeches interleaved with free time where the public will be able to go to the demo booths and try some cool VR games.
Among the speakers, there will true VIPs like Nolan Bushnell, the founder of Atari and also people from AMD, Insta360, Huawei, Pico, Qualcomm
The first keynote, at 9.00am, will be held by Mister President Alvin Wang Graylin and will have the name “Focusing on a New Reality”. I bet 2 cents that he will officially release the Vive Focus Plus on the market, giving us a price and release date.
The full program of the event can be found at this page or at this other page that also specifies the exact time of each talk.
Registration for the VEC 2019
To register for VEC, you have to go to this link and provide your data. Alternatively, you can scan with your phone the QR code that you can find in the official poster of the event. The registration form is both in English and Chinese.
Live stream
HTC has told me that there will be a live stream of the event or at least a part of it. Of course, attending it is better because you will be able to meet a lot of interesting people of the Chinese XR landscape (and also me!)… but China is very distant, so I can understand that not every one of you will be able to fly there.
The streaming link is still not available (even if this link shows a PLAY button…) and will probably be announced on Sunday or Monday. When this will happen, I will modify this post and will add the link here. Alternatively, I’m sure that Mr. Graylin will share it on its twitter line, so keep also an eye on his account to be updated about the live!
The link to watch The livestream of the VEC is this one: http://meia.me/course/livecenter . Take in mind that it will use a Chinese service, so you may experience some lag and resolution drop when watching it from a Western country. Don’t forget to connect at 14.35 Chinese time to hear my talk!
Tomorrow I’m going to take my plane to China… cross your fingers for me! And see you at VEC, in person or in streaming 😉
