apple ar glasses preview

EXCLUSIVE: Apple AR glasses hands-on preview [APRIL FOOLS’ POST]

Some days ago, all the community got excited because on the invitation to WWDC 2021, Apple has drawn an Animoji with some applications reflected on her glasses. Everyone started wondering if Apple could announce its AR glasses at WWDC or not. I have some exclusive info to share with you. Let me just start by saying that yes: AR glasses will be the “One more thing…” announcement at WWDC on June, 7th. And I have personally one more thing to tell you: I have the prototype of the glasses here with me.

Thanks to my connections in China, it’s some months that I talk with Apple China about a possible exclusive article on their AR glasses and they have finally agreed on doing something together. They sent me some days ago an advanced prototype of their upcoming AR (or maybe I should say SR) glasses, I tested it for some days, and then I prepared a review for you all. It has not been easy: all the material I created went under serious scrutiny because Apple just wants to reveal some info and not everything yet… and for instance, while the video has been at the end approved by Cupertino, my written textual review still needs some changes, so I’m not going to publish it today, but I will add it to this article probably before the end of the week. I know that people that like texts like me will be a bit disappointed, but I thought it was cool to deliver whatever I could publish (that is, the video), the soonest I could so that to inform immediately the community about this amazing piece of hardware.

Because, let me just tell you: this is the future. Forget all the other AR and VR devices you have tried. Apple AR glasses are lightweight, look like regular glasses, have no cables, have realistic visuals, amazing audio, and an innovative spatial operating system. They also feature an assistant that is always with you and guide you in whatever you do. They realize the dreams of every XR enthusiast.

Ok, enough talking… let’s get straight to the facts! Here you are my detailed preview video! Enjoy 🙂

If you are excited as me about these glasses, subscribe to my newsletter to not lose my future posts about this device. Remember that only The Ghost Howls has the exclusive rights to talk about them for the next months.

Don’t forget to share this post to spread the knowledge about the Apple Glasses with all the community! Then tell me: what has excited you the most about these glasses? What applications would you love to see on them? Let me know in the comments!

The XR Week Peek (2025.03.18): Niantic sells Pokemon Go, Meta released passthrough APIs, and more!

This has been a very intense week for me, work-wise. Luckily, intense in a good way. And just when I thought I had already too many things to do, I had to add another task, because Meta decided to release camera access for Quest and I couldn’t resist getting my hands dirty with it!  Anyway, let’s […]

How to start developing with camera access for Meta Quest 3 on Unity 6

Today I want to talk about one of my favorite topics: passthrough camera access. Meta has just released the APIs to let developers access the frames grabbed by the front cameras of the Quest so that developers can craft applications that can understand the environment around the user. In this tutorial, I will explain step-by-step […]
