how to speak at a virtual reality event

Join me on AltspaceVR to learn about XR at CES and in China

In few days, I’ll do it again: I’ll have a speech inside virtual reality. I am helping organizing an event of the “XR Story” Wechat group and I will be the main speaker for this occasion. Do you want to join me?

If the name “XR Story” is not new for you, it is probably because I have already told you about that in a previous post. It is an amazing community of VR creators that you can find on WeChat: people are friendly there and there is really the willing to kindly discuss about VR and to help each other. Most of people in the community live in China, so it is also an interesting opportunity to speak with people that live daily the Chinese XR ecosystem. If you have WeChat, I really advise you to join this community (you can also ask me for an introduction).

Well, after the first experiment about a VR event of this community, this time we are trying to do something organized a bit better and will hold a cool event inside AltspaceVR.

The event will last circa one hour and will start on Friday, 25th January 2019 at 10am Central European time (5pm in China). For the first half an hour, I will discuss about the most important XR news from CES 2019. So, if you don’t know what have been the coolest things happened there, I will do a recap that will let you keep pace with the XR ecosystem.

Then, for another half an hour, there will be a panel between me, Eloi Gerard (the creator of the XR Story group), Nikk Mitchell (the CEO of FXG video) and Gianluigi Perrone (CEO of Polyhedron VR Studio). The last three people are awesome creators that live in China. In this panel we will start from what has happened at CES to discuss about the current trend of XR in the world, with a focus with what is happening in China. I really can’t wait to talk with these 3 guys and learn a lot from them! It is a great opportunity to see the XR ecosystem in China from the eyes of three people from the West that live there.

If you want to join us, well, create an account with AltspaceVR (it’s free!) and then signal your interest at this page of the event by clicking on the little star. This way, when the event will start, you will be able to join it by simply accessing your “interesting events” inside the Altspace menu.

I really can’t wait to be able to connect with you directly face to face in VR! It is one of the first event that we are organizing, so I’m sure that there will also be some problems and this will make participating even more funny 🙂

If you can, join us, I’m sure we will have fun together and that you will find interesting all the topics that we will cover IN the speech and the panel! And we have in mind also to invite very cool people for the future events, so be sure to follow the XR Story AltspaceVR channel to stay tuned about the upcoming events…

UPDATE: Thanks to everyone that has joined the event! You can find the full recording of it here

The XR Week Peek (2026.04.13): Android XR adds autospatialization of 2D apps, Meta announces new AI for glasses, and more!

Today was a stimulating day for me: I participated in the INVELON ITALIA SUMMIT, moderating a round table about the use of XR in culture and tourism, trying demos, meeting new people… and enjoying some free food (the most interesting part of every event)! It has been my first XR event of the year, and […]
