A comprehensive list of publishers of VR games
The demo of our fitness XR game HitMotion: Reloaded is now complete, and we are evaluating the possibility of partnering with a publisher for finding the funds and the support needed to build the full game. I have scouted online a list of companies (I have already contacted), and since I know that there is not a place where there is a comprehensive list of publishers interested in VR, I thought about creating one myself, so as to help all the other indie developers that are in a similar situation. It’s the Christmas gift to the community from us of New Technology Walkers.
I know there is not such a thing as a “VR publisher”, because usually, publishers target multiple platforms. But in this current moment of the industry, we have learned by experience that many publishers are not interested in VR yet because it is a too little market: when I pitched our game to game publishers at Devcom this summer, at least 80% of them either did not answer, or answered with just a “We are not interested into VR”. So having a list of companies that for sure are interested in VR may be of help if you are looking for funds for your game. In fact, there are already some people that asked for a similar list in various Reddit threads.
