Today I want to review a little gem that you can find on SteamVR marketplace: The Price of Freedom. The Price of Freedom is a short experience made by Construct Studio, a little american indie studio. It is a little adventure where you are a CIA agent and you have to kill a person to […]
We were all expecting some announcement by Microsoft at its annual Build conference and the Redmond company has not disappointed us: it has revealed price, availability and controllers for their cheap Windows 10 VR headsets. If you don’t remember what these cheap headsets are and you’re too lazy to click the above link, well, Microsoft […]
One of the reasons my VR startup failed has been because we relied on Kinect to perform full body tracking, but Kinect has start dying in 2015 and now the project is something like a zombie. We were looking for a substitute and we put our trust on a little startup called Orbbec, who started […]
Today I’ll host here a guest post by Mark Metry of VU Dream, a company that is very active in spreading the world about VR: they sell VR headsets and also have a very insightful blog. I’m sure you’ve already read some awesome posts made by them (if not… why??). I think that his post […]
Today I’ve tested Master Shot VR, a VR shooting game that will be available as Steam Early Access on May, 12th. The game has very simple mechanics: you are inside a shooting center and you have to shoot at things 🙂 . In the training stage you’re like in a desert and you have to […]
As you have noticed, I’ve just moved from my warm house on wordpress.com to a self hosted blog here on skarredghost.com (using wordpress.org, as usually bloggers say). I’m writing this post just to express my considerations on how this process happens, the difficulties, the emotions, etc… I was pretty scared about moving my blog. Automattic […]
Hello everyone and welcome to my new house! As you can see, everything is changed here: I’m moved to self-hosted, and now I own a fantastic skarredghost.com domain; I’ve changed my theme and now I’ve a new modern layout for my home page and my news. Home page now highlights all the most clicked posts, […]
In the next times, I’ll make this little website to evolve a bit. I’ve started it as a little place where to put my thoughts… but know that it’s having its little share of success, it’s time to change something. I mean, I’m not UploadVR, but I thought that not even my parents would have […]
At VRLA Unity CEO John Riccitiello expressed his opinion about virtual reality market in the future… he has been very realistic and so I loved what he said. The reason for so much love is that he showcased a cold analysis on the VR market, based on his expertise and the numbers owned by Unity, […]
In the last times, I found myself arguing a bit on online communities with people sharing videos of their babies wearing Vive or Oculus headsets and having funny reactions. While the videos are surely amusing, I’m worried about little kids using VR and I often comment that… and usually people answer me that there’s no […]
Today I want to talk about a really annoying issue regarding some smartphones. It is slightly off topic, since it’s not directly a VR topic (and this is a VR blog), but since I use my Samsung Note 4 to do mobile VR… we can say that this is absolutely a VR-related post… can’t we? […]
